Heart disease is the world’s leading cause of death—nearly 20 million lives in 2022. More than three in four of those deaths are in low- and middle-income countries. Many patients do reach a clinic. But with one scan machine and a specialist hours away, everyone waits in the same line, and the sickest are often seen too late.
